The Nationwide Climate Service has issued a flash flood look ahead to St. George, Zion, and Washington County for Tuesday afternoon.
The storm is shifting from the south and shifting towards Southern Utah. There can be scattered showers and thunderstorms all through the day lasting from about 1 p.m. to midnight NWS Meteorologist Nicole Desmet mentioned.
Areas akin to small canyons, dry washes, and slick rocky areas can be liable to flooding through the showers and the NWS is advising hikers to be ready for fast-moving water and to probably reschedule plans. For autos, the “flip round, do not drown” is an efficient motto to remember and to keep away from any flooded roadways.
“When you’re planning any out of doors recreation please examine in with an area authority. If you’re planning an outside hike or should you’re doing something outdoor please be monitoring the climate,” Desmet mentioned.
